Bow West Ward Panel Meeting - Thursday 13th April, 6.30PM

Location og Bow West Police Ward Panel Meeting in Lichfield Road

Next Thursday is our local Police Ward Panel Meeting for the Bow West area. It usually lasts for under an hour and is your opportunity to report any local crime/ASB concerns to the local neighbourhood police and Tower Hamlets Council.

At the last meeting the following were set as the local policing priorities:

Violence Related Priority - Concerns have been raised by the community about drug dealing, drug taking and youths with weapons within the corridors of WHITTON WALK . In response to this officers will perform a number of targeted patrols over the next 3 months.

Tredegar Square E3 - ASB Residents of Tredegar Square have reported Anti Social behaviour and noise nuisance due to large groups congregating in the park late at night. Officers plan to increase patrols in and around the vicinity of the park.

Clinton Road ASB - Concerns have been raised by residents about drug taking and nitrous oxide consumption along with in considerate parking Anti social behaviour and noise toward the end of Clinton Road . Officers will work with Tower Hamlets council to reduce the issues raised.

The police will give an update on the above three policing priorities and the public present choose priorities for the next  period. Do you have any concerns relating to our area? Please pop along and pass them on directly to the police; or if you can't make the meeting then email us and we will pass them on for you.

Location: The meeting is in the church hall in Lichfield Road at 6.30PM

Do you have any local crime concerns where we live?

Photo showing entrance to the Epainos church in Lichfield Road.

There is often a disconnect between most of us and crime and the ASB where we live. Mostly the emergency services go by, but sometimes problems land on our doorstep.
Tonight the Bow West Police Ward Panel Meeting takes place and aims to listen and discuss the range of issues happening in our neighbourhood (Thursday 2 February) 6-7pm.

The meeting is at the Epainos Ministries Hall (the old Holy Trinity Church). Please enter via LICHFIELD ROAD, E3 5AT.
This is a community forum to discuss community safety and crime. All local residents of Bow West are welcome to attend. Don't be shy. It is a friendly meeting. You will have a chance to speak your mind.

Local police, Council Anti-Social Behaviour Officers, Councillors and Tower Hamlets Homes representatives will be there.

At the meeting, those present get to set the three ward priorities on crime in our area.

Please pop along if you can, if only for a while. I know folk feel nervous, but take that step and come along. These meetings do make a difference.

John (MEOTRA Chair).
PS Many of us will decant to The Lord Tredegar afterwards :)

Monday Feb. 2nd - £10,000 up for grabs for our Ward

£10k per ward.... times and dates of ward fund meetings

At 6.30-8.30PM on Monday the 2nd February at St Paul's Church in St Stephen's Rd there will be the first of the 2015 Local Community Ward Forums facilitated by our ward's Community Champions. The idea is folk come together and "brain storm" ideas for spending around £10k for the ward on community projects.

Last year the budgets for Bow East and West were combined (ie £20k) and were spent on a variety of projects including the Roman Road Festival

You can read more about the  priorities and budget allocation decisions made during the previous (2014) round of local community ward forums on the council website.

Do you have any ideas for projects we could put forward for the 2015? Let me know as I'll gladly adopt it as my own :) Actually I do have an idea, but am keeping it under my hat for the moment until I have a better idea of costings.... I'll let on in a forthcoming blog.

So put Monday 2nd Feb (6.30-8.30PM) in your diary and I hope to see you there.
