Our Jubilee Jamboree and Other News

Flyer for the forthcoming MEOTRA Jubilee Jamboree to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

It is just a week until Meotra's Jubilee Jamboree. Details of this event and lots of other news are in our 8-page newsletter which was delivered through post-boxes last week. If you didn't receive a paper copy then here is a link to the online version.

We'll be posting further information soon, but I hope you can make it. The event is free for all residents living in the Meotra area (i.e. the area bounded by the Regents Canal and Coborn Street and Mile End Road and Lichfield Road). You can get a flavour for the event from the flyer below. It is a local event for our community.

In terms of helping out, we have quite a few volunteers, but if you would like to help then just get in touch.

Over ten million people across the UK are expected to be joining the celebrations to share friendship, food and fun at Big Jubilee Lunches as part of this nationwide act of community friendship. People across the world are also joining in with over 600 international Big Jubilee Lunches being planned throughout the Commonwealth and beyond - from Canada to Brazil, New Zealand to Japan and South Africa to Switzerland.

In Tredegar Square we will of course be laying on plenty of fun and activities for the young ones. We'll lay on tea and other liquid refreshments and have a Garden Party atmosphere with traditional garden games for people of all ages. We have a lovely 3-piece steel band to provide us with chilled, summery music.

Please bring along a picnic, and finger food to share. We'll have some large gazebos where we can lay out any platters you bring.

Further details coming soon.
